MNA Mission
"The Minnesota Naturalists' Association
(MNA) exists to advance natural and cultural resource interpretation for
the purpose of fostering wise stewardship of all resources."
MNA strives to achieve this purpose by:
- establishing lines of communication and promoting cooperation among
nature centers, environmental education centers, parks, camps,
museums, and related facilities.
- stimulating thought, the exchange of ideas, and for mutual
assistance. maintaining communication with related professionals, with
administrators, and with the public to promote interest in and
understanding of natural and cultural interpretation.
- encouraging the development of and implementation of programs and
training in natural and cultural interpretation.
MNA provides a training and information exchange
network for its members through two annual workshops, a fall conference,
and six annual newsletters. MNA also provides information on jobs,
networking with other environmental education organizations, and access to
the experience and knowledge of the rest of MNA's membership.
Through a variety of committees, MNA gives its
members the opportunity to become involved in a many of the organization's
activities. Members plan and facilitate upcoming workshops, design and
publish newsletters and research and recommend environmental activities
for the organization to become involved in.
More than anything, MNA is a community of
individuals dedicated to natural history and environmental education. The
knowledge and support of others striving toward similar goals is an
invaluable asset to any member of the organization.
